SUCCESSFUL PONY CLUB CAMP

Araglin Pony Club held a very successful camp in the community field last week - the event attracted participants from far and wide and by all accounts, was very well run. Pony club founder, Margaret Allen (nee Rice) was present for some of the showjumping and was high in her praise of all the young riders.

RETURN OF BINGO

The good news for bingo players is that it’s business as usual in Araglin Community Field, next Sunday (commencing at 3pm). The bingo has proved an important revenue stream for Araglin Hall committee.

RETURN OF THE CARNIVAL

This news was greeted with universal approval and must surely be a sign that we are on the road to recovery. The programme is understandably curtailed, but should prove very attractive none the less. A highlight will be the Derek Burke concert in the field on Sunday, 25th July.

ARAGLIN’S NEWEST BUSINESS

Another bit of good news from the valley this week is the decision of former Araglin hurler, Sean O’Grady from Liss, to set up his own business - Glen Acre Farm Services. Sean, who has splashed out on a new Nissan van, already has a number of jobs lined up providing top class buildings for dairy and beef farmers. It’s a big step and we hope things go well for him.

BILL MAKING HEADLINES

Bill O’Flynn, who we are continuing to promote (for now) through our club website, has decided to produce a commemorative Irish Civil War jersey. The jersey, we are told, is at an advanced stage of production.
