Congrats to Darragh Flynn U20 All-Ireland winner
Darragh and his Cork teammates defeated Dublin last Saturday night in Nowlan Park, Kilkenny on a scoreline of 2-19 to 1-17. This was the first Cork All Ireland since 2005 and Darragh contributed two fantastic points, that were considered score of the match contenders. Everyone in GAA in the locality is delighted for the popular Darragh who is only 18 and has two more years at this grade. Well done also to James who was a big influence to Darragh, Aideen and family.
Ballygiblin U17s played their second championship match last Wednesday evening against Millstreet. The lads made the long trip to Millstreet to face a side that 2 years ago they beat and were then beaten by in championship. The first half was very even with both sides trading scores. Ballygiblin played against a strong wind in the first half. The forward line worked really hard to use the ball coming in and found the net with a great goal from Robbie O’Sullivan followed by 2 more points. At half time Ballygiblin were trailing 1-2 to 0-8.
Ballygiblin took control of the game in the second half making the most of the wind. With some great scores from Eoin Flynn they put a further 8 points on the scoreboard without reply from Millstreet. Midfield and defence made sure that they kept the opposition scoreless in the second half. Ballygiblin were worthy winners in the end 2-10 to 0-8.
