Congrats to Darragh and the Cork U20s

-

It’s been a long time coming for Cork to win an underage title, but the famine finally came to an end on Saturday night with the Cork U20s bringing home the 2020 All-Ireland title.

We had a long wait for the final after they claimed the Munster title just before Christmas, but the layoff didn’t affect the players and they put in an immense display especially in the opening quarter to lead from start to finish. It was even more fantastic to see our very own Darragh Flynn line out and it was such a pity we couldn’t be there in big numbers to cheer him on, but it was great to hear Ballygiblin mentioned in the TV commentary on such a big occasion.

Darragh started in the half forward line and contributed 2 fantastic points and was mentioned in the evening echo as one to watch for the future. He only turned 18 last year so hopefully he can add a 2021 title with the defence of their Munster title already happening next week. A huge congratulations to Darragh and his fellow teammates, you did yourself, your family and the club proud.

FIELD DEVELOPMENT

Thanks to everyone who turned out on Saturday morning for a presentation and walk through of the plans for the pitch development and for all their questions, suggestions and feedback. Thanks to Tom O’Donoghue for his contribution and answering all the queries. We will hopefully have a finalised plan in the coming weeks and can move forward with getting the development up on running.
