RESULTS U10

Training has been going very well. This was in evidence when we travelled to Lisgoold on Sunday last to take on the local side in a series of games. Great performances put in by the girls, great teamwork and skill shown by all.

U12

We played our 3rd league game of the year against Erin’s Own last Friday night. A great result for the girls who are improving week on week. We also travelled to Killavullen last Wednesday week for a competitive challenge match, again a great performance by all.

U14 TIGERS

Fermoy U14 Ladies Football team played their 4th round league game of the season away to Midleton on Monday evening, 12th July. It was an entertaining game of football with Fermoy taking an early lead. But Midleton got back in to it with 2 goals just before half-time.

The second half really ebbed and flowed with both sides taking the lead. But unfortunately it wasn’t Fermoy’s night in the end. Final score: Midleton 6-6 Fermoy 3-11.

U16 Fermoy 3-8 Rockban 4-12

We travelled to Rockban on Monday evening to play the locals in round 3 of the league. Unfortunately we got off to a poor start and conceded a few early goals. Once we settled we produced a fine display of football against a good Rockban team. We trailed at the half-time whistle by 1 point.

Again though we came out of the blocks slowly and trailed by 7 points at the end of the third quarter, and despite our best efforts that’s how it remained.

We need to win our remaining two games now against Cobh and Erin’s Own to qualify for county.

JUNIORS

This week our juniors faced near neighbours Bride Rovers in the league at Fitzgerald Park on Monday, 12th of July. This was a keenly fought local derby game but we settled well early and through great work rate we opened the scoring and had a commanding 4-7 to 0-0 lead at half-time.

The subs were introduced and even though Bride Rovers improved early in the second half, they helped keep the momentum going. We added a few goals, winning out comfortably in the end on a score line of 8-8 to 0-7.

BEST OF LUCK

We would like to wish Ashling Hutchings and the Cork senior ladies the best of luck on Saturday, 17th July where they play Tipperary at 2pm in Sean Treacy Park. Best of luck to Dearbhla Creed, Aoibhe Carey and the Cork minor ladies who play Galway minors in Meelick on Wednesday, 21st July.

WELL DONE

Congratulations to Ashling Hutchings and the Cork senior ladies on their win against Meath on Saturday last.
