7th July Garryspillane U17- First Round of Premier Minor Last Wednesday v Cappamore

Garryspillane 0-11 Cappamore 2-14

U17’s had their first outing of the year last Wednesday v Cappamore. Despite being short a few more experienced players through injury, Garryspillane enjoyed the better of the exchanges in the first half and really should have led by a lot more than the 7 points to 4 score-line at the half time break. Some wayward shooting was to prove costly. Cappamore came resurgent in the second half and with the breeze to their advantage they took the game to our boys.

Mid-way through the second half the game was on level terms but our lads were giving it their all. The loss of centre back John English through injury just after the second water break was to prove critical with Cappamore hitting 1-4 without reply in the final 5 mins to put a gloss to their victory. It was a solid performance from Garryspillane playing at the top level with indeed a very young team, almost all of whom are underage again next year and the year after. Final score Cappamore 2-14 Garryspillane 0-11.

Panel: Lewis Stewart, Billy O’Keeffe, Dylan Moriarty, Evan O’Connor, Ben Ryan, John English, Hugh Flanagan, Shane Ryan, Bailey Ryan, Cian Ryan, Paddy Kennedy, David O’Mullane, Josh Ryan, Owen O’Sullivan, Mikey O’Keeffe, Declan Heavey, Eoghan Beston, James O’Sullivan and Jamie McGrath.

8th July U13’s - Garryspillane beat Glenroe in a thriller of a game last Thursday evening, final score line - Garryspillane 2-08 Cappamore 1-10
