MUCH ANTICIPATED FINALS HELD AT TENNIS CLUB

2 SHOES AUTUMN CLUB CLOSED TOURNAMENT

Last Friday, we held our much anticipated finals night for our autumn closed club tournament kindly sponsored by Liam Kent of 2 Shoes. We would like to give a massive thanks to everyone who entered and competed in the tournament. The night started with an overcast evening, which made the courts quite slippery, however, the players soon got used to the conditions and provided some amazing rallies and points.

There was a friendly and social atmosphere throughout the evening while players still remained competitive throughout their match. The pandemic created new challenges for us but we sincerely thank everyone for their patience and willingness to get their matches played. We hopefully will be running similar events in the near future along with other planned events.

Lastly, we would like to congratulate our winners and runners up; Men’s A Winners: Mark Moloney and Cillian Dollion, runners up: Brian Carr and Aidan McNamara. Ladies’ A Winners: Elodie Ruelle and Marie Therese O’Kennedy, runners up: Helena O’Brien and Catherine Rea. Men’s B Winners: Daniel Klimchuk and Sergiy Klimchuk, runners up: David Kett and Padraig Hayes.

Ladies’ B Winners: Catherine O’Keeffe and Evelyn English, runners up: Veron O’Keeffe and Edel Fitzgibbon. Ladies’ C Winners: Edel Fitzgibbon and Karen Keane, runners up: Breda Leonard and Sharon Shields.

AED FUNDRAISER

We have reached 75% of our goal of €1,600 for a new defibrillator for the club and surrounding area. We want to sincerely say thank you to all who have donated through our junior hours and booked time slots to date. There is still some time slots available which can we purchased on our website. This is a fantastic achievement so far for such an important cause.
