WELL DONE AT CORK COUNTY STROKEPLAY

The Cork County Championship was held last weekend at Bishopstown and Ballinlough. The Club had two runner-up positions this year, J. J O’ Connor was unlucky to be beaten in a nine-hole playoff, taking runner up position in the Inter section. In the ladies’ section Ailish Sexton was runner up in the Inter Grade. Well done to all members who competed and congratulations to J.J and Ailish.

NO SUMMER LEAGUE THIS WEEKEND

The club is hosting the Gents National Qualifiers all day on Saturday so week 4 of the leagues will be deferred until next weekend 23rd, 24th and 25th July. This is a very enjoyable league with a weekly prize so please do make every effort to play for your team.

RESULTS FOR WEEK 3

Ladies Nett Theresa O’Keeffe. Gents Nett J.J O’Connor. Gross John Cahill. Current Team results are on the board in the clubhouse.

FRIDAY EVENINGS

Our usual 3ball/4ball game every Friday evening continues at 6.45pm, let’s enjoy the rest of the summer evenings. It’s a very enjoyable evening for all. Winners of last Friday evening’s 4ball were JJ O’Connor and Ronan Ryan. Well done to all. Club 4ball on Sunday morning at 10am. All welcome.

OPEN FOR GREEN FEES

The club is open for green fees. Why not come up and try a game! Bring the family and make a day of it. Adults €5 Juveniles €3. We have noticed that unfortunately some green fees are not being paid. We are monitoring the situation. Thank you for your support. Please make sure to pay your green fees before play, this money is necessary to pay for the many costs associated with running the club. Fees into the red box with your name and sign in and out of the book in the clubhouse please.

TEXT LIST

If you would like your contact number added to the list for weekly updates, please enter it on the sheet in the clubhouse or contact club secretary John Cahill on 086-9577997.

HELP NEEDED

Can you spare 45 minutes on a Saturday or Sunday morning? The greens need to be swished on weekend mornings and we need to add to the volunteers list to spread the load. Thank you to those who already volunteer and we would really appreciate added help. If you are not familiar with swishing it is an easy process and you will be shown how to do it. Swishing is absolutely vital to keep disease off our greens and keep the course in top condition.

GENTS

The gents are back playing a friendly game on Wednesday mornings at 10am. Why not come along and join in!

LADIES

On Tuesday, 6th July the scheduled sponsored competition was cancelled so the ladies played a club 3ball competition instead. There was a great turnout on the night despite the unsettled weather. On behalf of all the ladies we would like to welcome our newest lady member, Anne Burke. We hope you will enjoy the game and wish you all the best. The scores on the night were all very close, thanks to Beth Power for being on hand to check and verify the winning scores. Winners on the night were Anne Daly, Theresa O’Keeffe and Anne Burke. Well done ladies and thank you to all the ladies who played on the night.
