Northern Lights continue to shine in Fermoy
Thanks to the Northern Lights initiative in Fermoy, Barrack Hill (Oliver Plunkett Hill) and its environs has never looked better.
Festive lights, a traditional Christmas crib and a spectacular Christmas tree all combine to lift the mood during difficult times.
IMPORTANT FUNDRAISER ON SATURDAY
To assist with the fundraising effort, the Northern Lights committee are hosting a bake sale and raffle in The Long Bar on Saturday next, 4th December (10.30am to 5pm).
For the raffle, local service station, Amber, have sponsored two attractive hampers, while renowned baker, Margaret McGrath, has donated a very elaborately decorated Christmas cake. Financial contributions and home baking would be very welcome.
Fermoy Men’s Shed have been very supportive to the Northern Lights committee over the years and this dedicated group of volunteers are responsible for the crib that has been located opposite Shinnick’s SPAR. Pat, Dessie and Peter helped put up the crib.
The Northern Lights committee also wish to acknowledge their sponsors: Neligan’s Undertakers, Shinnick’s SPAR and the Chinese Oriental Takeaway, along with the goodwill and backing of Fermoy Town Council and Fermoy’s Christmas Lights group.
