Radio anomaly
Sir,
The imbalance of radio in this country is scandalous, where we have approx 27 stations in Dublin with the privilege of reaching out to all Ireland, while we have the community stations talking to themselves?
This anomaly in broadcasting allows Dublin to highlight its attractions to the nation, while the community stations are restricted to their respective limited area. This must be changed, if the provinces are to progress and develop and in view of this idea, there should be provincial radio stations, with all Ireland coverage, which would enable each province to advertise their respective attractions to the nation.
The new Ireland must incorporate this structure in its format. Liam O Conaire, Bruff, Co Limerick
