TECHNOLOGY FOR LEARNING

-

During the summer, two smart boards were installed in our classrooms, with a very generous donation from our Parents’ Association helping towards the cost. These allow the classes to access a huge range of interactive learning tools and lessons.

Chromebooks were also purchased for every pupil in 5th and 6th class. As well as using the Chromebooks for projects, research and creative writing, pupils have also taken part in the six-week Dreamspace TV Minecraft Education Edition learning programme. They learned planning, building and coding skills and will now put their knowledge into practise for their entry to the Ireland’s Future Is Mine competition. As part of the competition entry they must imagine how their community in Skeheenarinky might look in the future with an emphasis on sustainability. They are looking forward to using all their creativity, building and coding skills to enhance their competition entry.
