The 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I found this book so hard to put down!

Centre stage (or page) is the ageing, glamorous, celebrity character Evelyn Hugo. Despite her acting career, it is her 7 husbands that have consistently brought Hugo into the limelight. In her old age she finally decides to open up for the first time about each marriage and the whole story is not what the public has been led to believe. Not only that, she decided that the best person to write her life story is an unknown, unacclaimed journalist, Monique Grant. But why her and why now? Read to find out!

Evelyn makes it clear; she didn’t love all her husbands but she didn’t regret any of her marriages either. This story is joyful, full of love and also heart breaking. It is definitely not the book I thought it was going to be before I started reading it, there are so many more twists making it completely unpredictable and emotional.

The style of writing is very easy to read and the short chapters are gripping. Threaded together by ruthless ambition in her career and forbidden love, you need to read this book!
