U21 HURLERS PLAY MALLOW IN SEMI-FINAL

Our U21 footballers take to the field for the first time this year when we encounter Mallow in the North Cork semi-final. The match takes place on Sunday, December 5 in Castletownroche with a throw-in of 11.30am. Our opponents Mallow will be cock-a-hoop after their victory on Sunday last in the senior A football championship so this will be a very tough game. It is not an easy one to call but hopefully our boys will give a good account of ourselves and with a bit of luck take the victory and go marching on in to the final. We wish the players, management and all the backroom team the very best of luck. Fermoy Abu!

FERMOY GOES COUNTRY

Fermoy Goes Country returns in 2022 for the first time since our hugely successful Fermoy Goes Country in 2019. There is a tremendous line-up booked for the day and it is a credit to the committee for the success in this. The line-up consists of Mike Denver and his band, Cliona Hagan and her band, Robert Mizzell and Ciaran Rosney. These are all household names on the Irish country scene and a great day is guaranteed. It takes place in Fitzgerald Park on 14th August 2022 from 13.00 to 19.00. Wouldn’t it be an ideal Christmas gift for the loved ones in your family who love country music and also for those who love a good day’s fun in the summer sun. Tickets are available online for €25 on gr8events.ie. We hope to see you all there next summer where a great day out is guaranteed and we thank you for your support.

Win a brand new electric scooter! This scooter is worth €495 and would be a great spot prize to win for Christmas. By entering this draw you automatically enter a draw to win the house in winagaff.ie

Douglas, St. James and Fermoy GAA clubs have decided to extend the #winagaff competition to January 9th 2022. The final draw will take place on January 15th. Our goal right now is the same as it was when we started; to raise money to build a better future for our youth and all club members. While we have reached our goal to cover the cost of the competition the final financial aim has yet to be achieved and all three clubs are now making this a priority.

Everyone who has entered the draw so far are assured that on January 15th one lucky person will be the winner of a brand new house in West Cork while the other two prizes of a car and 5000 euro in cash will be handed over as well. The competition is capped at 10,000 ticket sales and will remain so. We are very grateful for all your support thus far as it has been invaluable.

The fundraiser is part of an initiative between the three clubs that have the welfare of their young members as top priority. As well as being pillars of their communities the clubs are also providing fun, friendship, solidarity and great sporting spectacles. As already previously highlighted the ambition is to have a half-size all-weather pitch, dressing rooms, viewing and players areas.

We hope that you will continue to support the draw by purchasing a ticket or two. It may be a nice Christmas gift to someone who could end up starting 2022 with a brand new house in West Cork or a brand new car. Thanks again for your continued support and the best of luck!
