Festive cheer for Seandún Macra
Festive cheer is top of the Macra agenda! On Thursday, December 16th members of Whitechurch Macra will be in front of Brown Thomas in Cork City to do some carol singing to raise money for Cork Simon. Before that, on Sunday December 12th, club members will be cutting timber and handing out bags of timber for anyone in need for the cold winter nights.
Carrigaline Macra’s New Year’s Eve ball has been cancelled. The club says the decision is due to the new Government restrictions. Anyone with a ticket will be issued with a refund in the coming days. They are hoping to be back next year!
A number of clubs across Cork are involved in Capers. Glanmire and Ballincollig have progressed to the national semi-finals after competing in the Seandun round recently. Well done to Knockraha on a wonderful and entertaining performance. Thank you to everyone who attended, helped on the night and took part! Thank you to the wonderful judging panel who stayed back after the show to give teams some feedback on their performances.
National Broadband Ireland is the main sponsor for the upcoming Club of the Year competition. The competition is designed to encourage clubs to be dynamic and active. The long running event is usually held annually at the Macra na Feirme Rally, but with the ongoing pandemic it will take place virtually on Saturday, December 11th.
The next Cork County newsletter is due out before Christmas! Clubs from across Cork submit a piece about what they have been doing lately. It is a really great publication.
