LADIES FOOTBALL

Well done to the junior ladies football team who had a great win over St Augustines last Friday, and to our senior team who are through to the quarter final after victory over Árd Scoil on Thursday.

JESSICA RECEIVES LCA AWARD

On Saturday, November 25th, Jessica Queally went to Athlone to receive her ‘Fergal Quinn Award’ from LCANA. She was one of 12 LCA students, from all schools with LCA, to win this award. Congratula­tions Jessica.

AMY RECEIVES HER AWARD

Congratula­tions to Leaving Cert student Amy Coffey who received an Undergradu­ate Entrance Scholarshi­p award at MIC Thurles.

WELL BEING WEEK

Best of luck to all in this week’s activities, planned as part of Well Being Week at BCS. Transition Years went to Fota on Monday for ice skating and students in school that day had a ‘Joke of the Day’ event and meditation time. More activities to follow.

HISTORY WEEK

Good luck to all students involved in activities throughout the week as part of History Week. LISMORE AND CAPPOQUIN CREDIT UNION ART Well to all BCS Art students who participat­ed in the recent Credit Union Art Competitio­n. Congratula­tions to Dawn Flynn, Reegan Keane, Grace Kenny, Bronagh Daly, Julia Moloanova, Oran Molumphy, Sara Alian, Hollie Flynn, Eve O’Connell, Destinee Stokes and Kate Murphy, all prize winners this year.

GREEN SCHOOLS

Our Green Schools Committee held a very successful cake sale on Friday, with all proceeds going to Trocaire to aid in the provision of clean drinking water for children in developing countries.

CPR TRAINING

Well done to all Transition Year students who have completed a basic First Aid and CPR refresher course over the last two weeks. Thanks to Tina Meagher and Ms Wilkinson, co-ordinators of the training.

BCS LIGHTS UP FOR CHRISTMAS

Thanks to everyone who attended the turning on of the lights last Tuesday evening. This year was a very special switching on, in memory of Marie Morrissey. Marie worked for 42 years in BCS and St Anne’s Cappoquin and it was wonderful to have the Morrissey family in attendance for the occasion.

Waterford, who received an Undergradu­ate Entrance Scholarshi­p to the BA in Education, Business Studies and Accounting programme at MIC Thurles. The scholarshi­p, valued at €2,000, was awarded on the basis of high-level CAO points obtained in the Leaving Certificat­e examinatio­n. Amy, who attended Blackwater Community School in Lismore, Co.
