More houses sought at Strawhall
Planning permission has been sought for the construction of 93 dwelling houses and a crèche at Strawhall in Fermoy.
The application, submitted to Cork County Council by Amber Vision Ltd., seeks for the proposed residential development to replace the permission for 79 dwellings previously permitted by the council at the same location.
In October of 2016, permission was originally granted for the development of 25 houses on-site, to replace the 8 dwelling units and 17 residential serviced sites already at the location.
A permission extension was subsequently sought as there were ‘substantial commercial and economic issues’ which ‘militated against development commencing,’ according to planning documents.
The latest planning application, which is currently before Cork County Council with pre-validation, is to replace and extend on previous planning permissions granted. Associated ancillary development works including vehicular and pedestrian access, parking, footpaths, drainage, landscaping and an amenity area are also sought as part of the works.
A decision is due to be made by the council by March 8.
