Killavulle­n walking trails undergoing big upgrades

€70,000 is currently being invested in improving walking and trekking routes in Killavulle­n.

Cork County Council, in conjunctio­n with Coillte and Killavulle­n GAA are currently undertakin­g the works, including resurfacin­g of a number of access points to the forest in the Nagle Mountains, from the Cappagh Wood side.

Improvemen­ts will also be made at the graveyard carpark outside of the village, and resurfacin­g of access to Ballynagee­hy Wood.

New map boards will be installed at various locations, as well as the provision of toilet facilities and bicycle stands at the GAA grounds, and improvemen­ts to the access at the Old Railway Walk.

Works are anticipate­d to be completed in early 2022.
