ACTIVE ARAGLIN

-

Last year in school we were very active in school. We did lots of different sports like GAA and gymnastics. We put in new climbing walls and put targets in the hurling wall.

At the start of September, a woman named Rachel came in to teach us gymnastics. We learned how to do a front tumbles, handstands, cartwheels, back bends and at the start of the lessons we learned new dances. All the students from junior infants to 6th class loved it. We hope we can do it again sometime.

Also, at the start of September we did GAA with Fáchna. He taught us hurling and football. We played mini matches, passing and catching and other fun games like over the river. We played mini matches down the pitch. This is where there were five or six people on a team and we swapped them in and out to play each other. It was really fun.

When we came back to school in September they had installed climbing walls. They are located in 2 different locations. Which are the front and the back of the school. They are suitable from junior infants and up.

They’re painted targets and goals in our hurling wall. Lots of people like to go in and kick footballs and hit sliotars against the targets. They are really fun to use.

Last year in school was very active. We all really enjoyed the sports. We hope that the people helping us stay active will come again this year.
