Lotto returns on February 3rd with a €3,800 jackpot

With the easing of restrictio­ns our lotto will return on Thursday, February 3 with the draw taking place in Walsh’s Yard Bar. Tickets are available at retail outlets, public houses and online at mitchelsto­wn gaa.com.

REBELS’ BOUNTY DRAW 2022

The Rebels’ Bounty Draw which proved to be a huge success will run along the same lines as 2021 and Mitchelsto­wn GAA are presently promoting same. The inaugural year proved very successful for Mitchelsto­wn punters with Colm Baker and Catherine O’Keeffe winning €250 which was followed by Killian Molan winning €20,000 in the September draw.

Mitchelsto­wn have been very lucky in the old draw and it looks like our luck is continuing so watch this space to purchase a ticket for the 2022 event. The draw itself has €500,000 in prizes over twelve draws with 360 prizes culminatin­g in the final draw which has €100,000 first prize. You can join the draw directly on the Cork GAA website or by contacting 087-2070344. You can also pay by eft to Mitchelsto­wn GAA and your ticket receipt will issue within 48 hours, pay to IE38BOFI90­2944463399­82.

The draw entry will close in early February which means no person can enter the draw or join for a month to try and win the top December prize. All existing members will be contacted in the coming weeks by their promoters, if in the meantime you wish to pay your renewal direct to Cork GAA and are an existing member please click on renewal when requested.

CLUB MEMBERSHIP 2022

Club membership for the coming year is now due and is set at €50 for and adult and €20 for a student. It can be paid direct to any club officer, by EFT to IE38BOFI90­2944463399­82 giving name for membership or by logging on to https://mitchelsto­wngaa.com. All fully paid up members will then be put on a WhatsApp group which will give instant updates on all club activities for all age groups from adults down to the six year olds.

U21 FOOTBALL 2022

It is looking very positive that the Avondhu board will be running both hurling and football competitio­ns in the division for 2022 at least. At the time of going to press it looks like the football championsh­ip will commence week ending February 13th with the finals pencilled in for week ending February 27th. The hurling dates will be looked at in the coming weeks as they may be clashing with the intercount­y U20 season.

CONGRATULA­TIONS BALLYGIBLI­N

Huge congratula­tions to the Ballygibli­n hurlers on reaching the All-Ireland club hurling final which at the time of going to press is fixed for Croke Park on Saturday, February 5 against Mooncoin of Kilkenny, with a 3pm throw in time.
