Scoil Pól go the distance during Wellbeing Week

- MARIAN ROCHE

Wellbeing Week 2021/2022 in Scoil Pól, Kilfinane saw staff and students getting busy for a Strava distance

challenge, created by the staff and student Wellbeing Committee. The aim of this challenge was to promote getting outdoors.

Group challenges were created using the Strava app, which staff and students joined in order to record the distances they walked, ran or cycled throughout the 10 day challenge.

Both students and staff supported each other through the app by commenting or liking any distance completed by participants. At the end of the ten days, the winner of the staff challenge was Ms. Doyle and the winner of the student challenge was sixth year student, Liam Fitzgerald, whose running jogged up a total of 92.8km! Ms Doyle and Liam were both presented with certificates highlighting their achievement, and Liam also received a voucher for Elverys.

Well done to all who participated! As Gene Tunney, the American boxer once said, “To enjoy the glow of good health, you must exercise”.
