A POEM FOR BALLYGIBLIN

- BY JOHN ARNOLD

We’ll talk of chairman Liam Doherty, the man from

Croughevoe

Sure he was a Cork County Councillor a long time ago He organized ‘em and sanitized ‘em and kept Covid

away

As Ballygiblin get ready for their greatest day.

They conquered all Cork and in Munster Skeheen’ The semi in O’Moore Park was the best ever seen With lads from Australia, not forgetting the ‘Town A team full of spirit that won’t let the parish down .

With a long-haired trainer, he’s Aghada’s Ronan A hero, a hurler and a giant of a man.

So on Saturday we’ll all rise up with the lark

As the Red and White army descend on Croke Park.

Kilkenny’s Mooncoin of course will give them a test But Ballygiblin, in Ireland, we sure think are the best. So lads let ye Saturday put the scores up and up And bring back to Ballygiblin the All-Ireland cup.
