SYMPATHY
Sympathy to the Mullins and Walsh families on the recent death of Philomena O’Connell (nee Walsh). Philomena was born and reared in Garryvouragha, Kilbehenny and later moved to New York where she settled down. Phil subsequently came back to her native sod where she resided with Mary Mullins, Boher. Phil was laid to rest in Kilbehenny graveyard on Monday. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
BINGO
Lovely to see Bingo back again in Kilbehenny Community Centre on Sunday night. The Bingo patrons were eager to get back and were not disappointed. Bingo commences at 8pm. Doors open at 7.30pm every Sunday night as has been the norm for Kilbehenny for the past 30 years and, hopefully, will continue into the future. Good prizes to be won. Come along on Sunday night and ‘check’ it out and sure what else would you be doing on a Sunday night.
GAA
Best of luck to near neighbours Ballygiblin hurling team who face Mooncoin on Saturday, 5th February in Croke Park in the final.
ICA
ICA ladies are back again at their monthly meetings in Kilbehenny Community Centre. The next meeting is on Tuesday, 8th February at 8pm. The ICA was founded in Bree, Co Wexford in 1910 as a women’s organisation specifically for women. Many women have been educated and gained confidence and provide support to each other. The motto of the ICA is to provide friendship and support towards each other.
