EVERY STEP COUNTS CHALLENGE 2022

Castletownroche GAA Club has signed up for the Irish Life sponsored “Every Steps Counts” Challenge. The objective is for each club to cover at least 4,000 KM between January 19th and February 23rd. All you need to do is download the “MyLife” App and follow the instructions, registering for the Munster GAA Challenge and search for Castletownroche GAA Club. At the end of the challenge, all clubs who register at least 4,000km are entered in to a draw for some cash prizes and O’Neills gear, so it’s well worth supporting. We are well on track to meet the target and it is great to see so many people supporting the challenge. Note that the public lighting is on over at the GAA pitch every night of the week from 5pm to 8pm for those wishing to use the GAA facilities for this great initiative. Best wishes to Ballygiblin hurlers Everybody in Castletownroche GAA Club wishes Ballygiblin every success in the All-Ireland Junior Hurling Final versus Mooncoin from Kilkenny this coming Saturday. Fingers crossed they will deliver the goods and return the All-Ireland to the Avondhu division.

HARD LUCK TO MOURNEABBEY LADIES

Hard luck to the Mourneabbey ladies footballers who gave of their all last Saturday but to no avail, as they were defeated 1-11 to 1-07 by Kilkerrin- Clonberne in the All-Ireland Senior Ladies Club Final. The game could have gone either way. Whilst there is no doubt this was a disappointing outcome, the girls can hold their heads high after a great campaign and a valiant attempt to defend their All Ireland trophy.
