League action

-

Vee Rovers juniors returned to league action on Sunday after an extended Christmas break due to you know what. Peake Villa, a side who have been knocking on the door for premier league honours in recent seasons were the visitors to scart. The home side had a horrible start by conceding a goal after two minutes and found themselves under constant pressure for the remainder of the half. Rovers gradually grew into the game but found it difficult to create goal scoring chances.

Peak Villa doubled their lead just before the break with another goal that will disappoint the home defence. The home side started the second half at a high tempo but unfortunately failed to breach the visitors the defence which had a couple of close calls.

The game was put beyond Rovers reach on 57 minutes when Peak Villa added a third goal. Rovers proceeded to empty the bench and were finally rewarded by a goal from club captain, Mark Haide, on 79 minutes. Peake Villa had the last say on the goal count with a goal on 86 minutes to leave the final score 4-1 in favour of the visitors.
