Please phone in results

-

All managers are asked to have the results phone number so that they can text in half-time and full-time scores along with their teams’ scorers and a brief report if they wish. Both sides must phone in with the information, but it is the home side who is responsible for the result. Again, please text information to this phone number 083-0890833.

U11, U10, U9, U8 and Academy fixtures are up on the league website and clubs can arrange times that suit for these games between team managers. Please ensure fair play and even game time for all the boys and girls taking part. It is about learning, having fun and enjoyment with your friends.

The goalkeeping course continues on Wednesday nights at the Ballybridge club complex in Ballymacoda from 7-8pm with Finn O’Sullivan doing the coaching.

FINES

A number of clubs are not sending in the results and scorers especially if they lose so fines will be issued to these clubs as per rule.

RESULTS SATURDAY, JANUARY 29 PRIM ED U12 LEAGUE Ballybridge United 1 Clashmore Ramblers 3

Two of the bottom sides met in Ballymacoda with Ballybridge United just losing out to Clashmore Ramblers in another very tight game. Goals from Ciaran Leahy Callum Leel and Dylan Leel secured the points for the visitors who leapfrog Ballybridge in the table.

Ballyduff Rovers 3 Brideview United 1

Another really fine game played at the Ballyduff Community field between these two contenders. Again there was not much to choose between the teams, but Ballyduff after a slow start are now in top form and goals from Shay Feeney (2) and Andrew Lunch were enough to give the home side three valuable points. Barra Alian got the goal for Brideview United. Results elsewhere see Ballyduff climb the table while Brideview United are also still very much in the hunt with Mogeely leading the way.

Mogeely 1 Lismore 0

What a cracker of a game in Railway Park with Lismore looking for a 4th straight win on the bounce, while Mogeely were also in sparkling form coming into this fixture. As a result a tight game ensued in what is turning out to be a really great league. Both defences and goalkeepers acquitted themselves very well, keeping it scoreless at the interval. Indeed, it remained deadlocked until a Max Smiddy strike sealed the issue in favour of Mogeely on a day when both sides played superbly. Mogeely remain in top spot just ahead of the chasing pack.

Kilworth Celtic 2 Inch United 2

Another fine advert for the U12 league with Inch United coming away from Sheila Flynn Park with deserved point after a cracking game with Kilworth Celtic. Both of these sides are well matched and so it proved with the sides level 1-1 at half-time and 2-2 at full-time. Peter Sarsfield scored for Kilworth in the opening half while Luke Browne got their second goal.

Cappoquin/Railway v Ardmore postponed due to Covid in Ardmore Squad.

U14 LEAGUE Lismore 0 Brideview United 3

Brideview received a walkover from Lismore in this game.

Inch 2 Cappoquin 0

Inch recorded a 2-0 home win against Cappoquin. This was a very good game and a very good result from the home side with goals from Tom Power and Conor Brennan giving Inch the points.

U13 BACK GAME Kilworth Celtic 9 Valley Rangers 0

Kilworth continue their unbeaten run in the U13 league as they proved far too strong for Valley Rangers at Sheila Flynn Park. Among the scorers were Padraig Noonan, Paudie Hurley, Ryan Pierce, Danny Kenneally, Sean Riordan, Daniel Pierce and Killian Ball.

U15 BACK GAME Inch 0 Mogeely 2

Goals from Mark O’Mahony in the first half and Ben Cooney in the second half were enough to give Mogeely the win in this U15 back game. That finishes the phase 1 fixtures with the top 4 and bottom 4 now decided in U15.
