LCA trip to Glenmar plant

LCA 1 visited Glenmar fish processing plant in Curraglass last week as part of their investigat­ion into the Irish fishing industry. They received an excellent talk about food safety, processing of shellfish, pasteurisa­tion methods and vacuum packing. An extremely interestin­g trip. Thanks to all in Glenmar for allowing us to visit on Thursday.

JUNIOR CAMOGIE

Our Junior Camogie Team have a Munster Final Day on Tuesday, February 1st in Mallow. Best of luck to all involved. Well done to our first and second year girls also on their win last Friday at home against Ag Mhuire, Cork.

JUNIOR GIRLS FOOTBALL

Our Junior Girls played St Anne’s, Tipperary in their quarter final last week. Well done to all, never giving up till the final whistle and best of luck to St Annes in the semi-final.

SCHOOLS EQUESTRIAN

Members of our equestrian team were in action over the weekend in Tipperary and Waterford. Congratula­tions to Fiona Mulcahy who got through to the open jump off having a fantastic clear. Over the coming weeks training days will be taking place and the remaining events before the final. Contact with Ms Murphy in relation to these training days and attending competitio­ns.

TRANSITION YEAR ACTIVITIES

Our group went on their hike to Mount Melleray last week as part of their Gaisce Programme.

CROSS COUNTRY

Best of luck to all involved in cross country athletics this Thursday in the East Munster Championsh­ips in Thurles.
