Volunteers needed for Mitchelstown spring clean

M i t c h e l s t own Community Council are planning to spruce up the town, and are giving plenty of notice to people to gear up and get ready to join them.

A clean- up is planned for the end of March, paying particular attention to New Square and the streets in town. Volunteers will be supplied with all the tools they need - pickers, high-vis vests, gloves, bags - via a grant received from Cork County Council’s Environment Department, through the Anti-Dumping Initiative.

Cllr Deirdre O’Brien, who pursued the funding of €1,700, said the much-welcomed funds would go not only towards equipment, but also two skips for the collection of rubbish.
