Carraig Park to play host to attractive friendly

Cobh Ramblers will take on Fermoy F.C. in a fundraising friendly in Carraig Park next Sunday, 13th February - kick off is 2pm. Cobh, who boast some very exciting young players, are fine tuning plans for a serious assault on this year’s first division title - Sunday is their final pre-season friendly.

Volunteers and ground personnel are pulling out all the stops to ensure Carraig Park is looking its best for the big match. Admission is a modest €5, with proceeds being divided between Fermoy Sub Aqua Club and Fermoy Tidy Towns Committee. As sponsor to both sides, Charlie McCarthy of McCarthy Insurance Group is looking forward to what should be an interesting fixture. A spokesperson for Mr. McCarthy said he was delighted to sponsor a new tournament trophy that will be presented on Sunday.

“Charlie McCarthy and his family have been outstanding supporters of Fermoy Soccer Club over a considerable period of time and for this we are most grateful,” a club spokesperson told Avondhu this week.
