Step Forward with Cork ETB
Cork ETB are very excited to introduce a new course for young people aged between 17 and 25 who are not in school or college.
Titled ‘Step Forward’, the course is aimed at giving young people a taster of different courses, between February and June this year. The course includes a taster in hairdressing, barbering and car maintenance, along with CV preparation, Food Hygiene and Safety (HACCP), Safepass, Manual Handling and Driver Theory. Throughout the course young people will be supported to build a CV, interview skills, support to access to further education and career guidance.
Running for 4 hours per week, this free to attend course is tailored to meet the needs of young people, who can pick the modules they would like to attend. It will run in three locations, namely Mitchelstown, Charleville and Mallow. A number of drop-in information events are scheduled, and Cork ETB invite any young person or their guardian to these events to find out more.
The information events events will take place in Charleville on Wednesday, 16th Feb at 12 noon in Mannix College, New Line. The Mallow event is on Wednesday, 9th March 12 noon at the Q Centre, IDA Industrial Estate, Lower Quartertown. While the date and time of the Mitchelstown information event at Forrest Hall, The Square, is yet to be confirmed.
