Ali’s Four Faced Theatre Company’s debut
Alison McCormack who has graced the stage with Fermoy and Mitchelstown musical societies, saw her recently-established Four Faced Theatre Company made their debut at the Cork Arts Theatre last Thursday, Friday and Saturday with ‘DNA’, a play by Dennis Kelly.
The play stars Brian O’Riordan, Bríon O’Sullivan, Eibhlís Beirne, Georgia McCarthy Maguire, Gillian Roberts, Katie Taylor, Niall Holland, Oisín Carroll, Maggie Donovan, Mikey Murphy and Úna O’Brien with direction under the watchful eye of Alison herself.
Speaking to The Avondhu prior to the
run, Ali who hails from
Kilworth, spoke of her excitement about the group’s inaugural production.
“It’s our first outing as a theatre company. It’s a fantastic play, described as ‘a poignant and sometimes hilarious tale with a very dark heart’.
“The cast and crew is full of young emerging Cork theatre makers and we are all so excited to share what we have been working on with the People’s Republic of Cork.”
In this play, amongst the darkness of an unnamed wood, a group of teenagers do something bad, really bad. As tensions rise and friendships unravel, the group needs someone to take charge, but who do they trust? Who do they follow? As an alpha emerges, their plan takes shape, and they find that their cover-up unites them and brings harmony to their once fractious lives.
When no one’s around to see what you’ve done, where is the incentive to put things right?
