The trade is very consistent at the moment in Corrin Mart. Each week the sales are getting bigger and the trade remains very strong with many customers around the ring and online from all around the country.

COWS

Very strong demand for all dry cows again this week.

Store cows: 400kgs to 550kgs making from €1.30 per kilo to €1.85 per kilo.

Heavier cows: 550kgs+ making from €1.60 per kilo up to €2.20 per kilo.

Charolais 595kg €1,300; Friesians 780kg €1,460; Friesians 660kg €1,160.

BULLOCKS

Excellent trade for bullocks again this week.

Light stores: under 350kgs made from €1.60 per kilo for plain Friesians up to €3.25 for Continenta­l bullocks. With AA/Hereford types making from €2.15 per kilo up to €2.65 per kilo.

Medium stores: 350kgs to 500kgs starting at €1.65 for Friesians up to €2.76 per kilo for Continenta­ls. AA/ Hereford bullocks made from €2.15 up to €2.53 per kilo.

Fwd. stores: 500kgs to 600kgs. The plainer Friesians started at €1.88 per kilo up to €2.83 per kilo.

Heavy bullocks: 600kgs+. Good demand for heavy bullocks making from €2.05 up to €2.75 per kilo.

Limousin 293kgs €950; AA 465kgs €1,180; AA 248kgs €670; Limousin 600kgs €1,700.

HEIFERS

Exceptiona­l demand for all heifers again this week.

Store heifers: under 400kgs made from €2.10 up to €2.95per kilo. AA/Hereford averaged at €2.20 per kilo.

Butchers heifers: 400kgs+. These type heifers made from €2.15 up to €2.68 per kilo, with AA/Hereford averaging at €2.25per kilo.

Charolais 220 kgs €650; AA 480kgs €1,200; Limousin 347kgs €980; AA 560kgs €1,390.

CALVES

The calf sales in Corrin Mart will now take place on Wednesday’s. Numbers will increase rapidly each week, trade is good for all calves this week.

DAIRY SALES

We have dairy sales every Friday in Corrin. This Friday, the 11th, we have a large dairy sale for Mr Bill Dowling, Fermoy. There are 140 JEX cows on offer with exceptiona­l yields and solids.

We would encourage anyone with dairy stock for sale to contact us at Corrin to enter for any of our sales over the next few months as dates are filling up quickly.
