Waterford pushed all the way in league opener

-

Waterford and Dublin played out a draw in the Déise’s National Hurling League opener at Parnell Park last Sunday. Ill-tempered at times but exciting nonetheless, both teams entered the referee’s notebook a total of seventeen times. Waterford held on to earn a draw which they will be happy with given the fact that they are without the services of the Ballygunner players and Jamie Barron and Tadgh de Burca were absent due to injuries. It was nice to see a total of six players from the Lismore and Ballysaggart clubs lining out to make their mark in the team. Next up are Laois on Sunday, February 13 in Walsh Park.
