EXCITING DAY’S RACING IN PROSPECT AT KNOCKANARD - FIRST RACE 12.30PM
Following on from Tallow last Sunday, local racegoers don't have to travel too far as the Avondhu Foxhounds Point-to-Points take place in Knockanard next Sunday - first race is at 12.30pm.
This long established fixture has produced its fair share of high quality winners over the years and Sunday should be no different.
Organisers have 6 races to get through (no divides expected) and patrons are encouraged to be at the course in good time for the 12.30pm starting time.
FIRST RACE (12.30PM)
Proceedings get underway at 12.30pm with a contest for 4-year-old maidens, this is sponsored by Coolagown Stud and Shinnick's SPAR, Fermoy.
SECOND RACE (1.00PM)
Next up is a 5-year-old geldings maiden, jointly sponsored by Rathbarry Stud and Tattersalls.
THIRD RACE (1.30PM)
The third race on the card is the always competitive open lightweight - there are 3 sponsors Coolmore, Grange Stud and Grove Stud.
FOURTH RACE (2.00PM)
The mares winners of one goes to post at 2pm - the sponsors are Riordan's SuperValu, Fermoy and AIB.
FIFTH RACE (2.30PM)
The second last race on the card is for 6-year-olds and upwards maidens and confined to novice riders. Race sponsors include The Quays & Grill Bar, Fermoy and GAIN Equine Nutrition.
SIXTH RACE (3.00PM)
The final contest of the afternoon is for 5-year-olds and upwards (adjacent hunts). Sponsors: Glenview Stud and McCarthy Insurance Group.
