EVERY STEP COUNTS CHALLENGE 2022

Castletownroche GAA Club has signed up for the Irish Life sponsored “Every Steps Counts” Challenge. The objective is for each club to cover at least 4,000km between January 19th and February 23rd. We are well on track to meet the target, with almost 3,500km completed at the time of submitting these notes. It is great to see so many people supporting the challenge. Note that the public lighting is on over at the GAA pitch every night of the week from 5.00 to 8.00 for those wishing to use the GAA facilities for this great initiative.

HARD LUCK TO BALLYGIBLIN HURLERS

Ballygiblin’s great run in the Junior Hurling Championship came unstuck in heartbreaking fashion last Saturday at the very last step in the All-Ireland Junior Hurling final in Croke Park, where they were edged out by Mooncoin of Kilkenny by a single point. It wasn’t to be on the day but the Avondhu representatives put in a mighty showing and could have snatched it at the death. They can hold their heads high and we wish them the best of luck in the coming season.
