Good weekend for United

PRIM-ED SCHOOLBOYS/GIRLS LEAGUES

Brideview United had a good day on Saturday when both their U13 team and U15 team both recorded good wins. Our U15 team are now in with a great chance of winning the league and we will have more on this next week.

PRIM-ED U15 LEAGUE Brideview Utd 8 Clashmore Ramblers 1

A good win here for our U15 team. This victory over Ramblers puts our team in with a great chance for league honours. A draw will see Utd crowned champions.

United got off to a flying start. Billy Murphy direct from a free kick set them on the road after just 5 minutes. Further goals from Ben Sheehan, Joseph McDonnell and Roy Nugent saw Utd 4-0 in front before Ramblers pulled a goal back. With just a few minutes to go to the break. David Wall set up Nugent who beat two defenders before shooting home a 5-1 lead for United at the break.

A great Utd move started by Cian Murphy who passed to Sheehan and a great ball by the latter through Ramblers defence saw Wall shoot low to the net. Danny Power set up Wall for goal number seven. Utd rounded off the scoring when Adam Pratt shot home from close range. A good win here for United.

Utd panel all played – Alex Good, Cian Murphy, Aidan Murphy, Billy Murphy, Gearoid Hynes, Joe McDonnell, Ben Sheehan, Danny Power, Dean Cronin, David Wall, Ray Nugent, Adam Pratt, Isaac Almeida, Sean Murphy and Nathan Mason.

PRIM-ED U13 LEAGUE Brideview Utd 1 Cappoquin – Railway 0

A terrific game of football here between two sides with very little to separate them. Indeed the results was in doubt right up to the final whistle.

The only goal of the game came when Barra Alian shot to the net. It was enough to collect all three points for United.

United squad all played – Josh Mangan, Lee Guildea, James McDonnell, Oscar Morrison, Tommy Forbes, Paul Hegarty, Ryan Whelan, Dylan Kerrigan, Barra Alian, Oscar Cunningham, Esther King, Harry Power, Brian Murphy and Andy Cash.
