THAT GUT FEELING
A world leading research lab to investigate precision medicine in relation to gut inflammation and the microbiome, will be established at APC Microbiome Ireland, SFI Research Centre in University College Cork to help fight IBD, Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis which affects 40,000 people in Ireland and ten million people globally every year. €5.6 million in funding has been awarded to Prof Subrata Ghosh, Deputy Director of APC and Chair and Head of Medicine at UCC, through the prestigious Science Foundation Ireland Research Professorship Award.
