Speed ramps for Mulberry Road

Proposed road improvement works for 2022 on Mulberry Road in Mitchelstown will allow for four additional ramps, as well as one junction speed table. Speed tables are a raised section of road over a junction, with a ramp on each arm of the junction.

The road improvements are scheduled for this summer, and the locations of the ramps are yet to be determined, but will be led by public lighting and with regard to private home entrances.

The request was made at the Fermoy Municipal District meeting this week by Cllr Deirdre O’Brien, who pointed out that the road is seeing an increase in traffic owing to the school safety measures at Brigown.

MANDEVILLE PARK FOOTHPATHS

Elsewhere, Cllr Noel McCarthy put in a request for footpath repairs in Mandeville Park in the town. This will, the council confirmed, be looked at.

However, the budget and programme for footpaths in the district as a whole has not yet been confirmed and so there is no confirmation of the works yet.
