A lost opportunity

Dear Editor,

The Government’s cost of living package was another lost opportunity; by failing to index link social welfare payments to inflation while making tax credits refundable.

Such measures have once again thrown under the bus those who are in low paid employment or in receipt of inadequate fixed social welfare payments.
