-

The 2022 road racing season will shortly get underway, with the first racing in Munster on Sunday, March 16. The season will start, as usual, with the long established Lacy Cup races in Tralee. Racing will be from Tralee, out on the Dingle Peninsula before finishing back in Tralee. There will be two separate races on the day, with a handicap race for categories 1, 2 and 3 and a separate race for category 4 cyclist.

On the following Sunday, racing will be in Caherconlish, Co. Limerick with the Ras Luimni being organised by the Limerick Cycling Club. This will be followed on St Patrick’s Day by the Bobby Power Memorial Race, being organised by the Carrick Wheelers Club in Cloneapower.

There will be no youth racing in Munster until April 3rd at the John Drumm Memorial Races in County Kerry. There will, however, be a youth 2-day in County Mayo on 12th and 13th March. The Fermoy club cyclists are busy preparing for the new season and there are club spins on Sunday mornings, leaving from the Town Park gates at 9am.
