Team Green are Colours League champions

-

The finals of the Colours League took place last Thursday evening. The first match on court was the final of the Colours League Plate between team Purple and team White. It was a close match with plenty of drama. Team Purple just had enough on the night to earn the victory, winning by three games.

The championship final was between team Green and team Orange. Team Green were strong favourites, but the Orange side put in a very commendable performance, losing out to the eventual champions by only 5 games. The presentation of prizes followed, along with plenty of refreshments.

The Colours League was a great success. We had 54 players taking part, and many other members filled in as a substitute, each having regular games and getting to meet other members of the club. Well done to our captain Ciaran O’Kennedy who organised the event. We say a special thanks to the competition sponsor, Kevin Moloney of Albany Painting and Decorating for his generous sponsorship.
