Milers hit Dublin, Kerry and Cork with national silver coming home with Tom
The Irish Life Health National Intermediate, Masters, Juvenile B and Juvenile Relays Cross Country Championships was only a short distance here from us at home a quick spin to Castlelyons, Co Cork. We had 5 men Tom Blackburn, Kevin Lenihan, Willie O’Donoghue, Damien Holian and Gerard Griffin come to the start line with over 200 more runners for this 7km race on a soft energy zapping sticky course.
By 3.15pm the results were in and Tom Blackburn was declared silver medallists in category. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be a day of bling for the rest of our boys but results to be very proud of as they finished 5th club team and Tom, Willie and Damien were 1st, 4th and 5th scorers in the 4th place finishing county team.

HARDMAN HALF MARATHON
Titled hardman but more aptly named for our club lady Aoife Courtney hard lady was a half marathon event which was ran through the Gap of Dunloe last Sunday morning in Kerry. Aoife took the chance to run Ireland’s most challenging half marathon through the legendary Gap of Dunloe, with breath taking views of Killarney’s most stunning scenery around every bend they say you will hardly notice the hills but Aoife can attest to its difficulty and endurance. Keep in mind that what goes up must also come down not a bother to 2nd lady home our Aoife.
