New book aims to empower us to mindfully ‘Eat With The Seasons’

-

‘Eat With The Seasons’, debut book and brainchild of Killavullen author Cathy Fitzgibbon, aka The Culinary Celt, aims to empower readers with practical and meaningful ways to self-reflect and recognise their own personal eating patterns in tune with nature and the four

varied seasons of the year.

Cathy, who hails from Castlekevin near Killavullen, maintains that “When we understand our personal relationships with food we give ourselves a better chance to live more healthily and harmoniously in the ebb and flow of the seasonal cycles of the year”.

Wanting to write the book to help others, but equally waiting for the right time to bring it to life, Cathy used her time during lockdown to research and write the book. The Celt Mindful Eating Model framework, Culinary Compass Tool and variety of frameworks and exercises developed, intends to instil a greater sense of daily gratitude and joy drawing from our food interactions, encounters and experiences.

We all eat, be it for pleasure, punishment, to survive or thrive. With this in mind, the book is designed to help readers align and balance the scales in terms of their own personal emotional eating patterns, making it a game changer for anyone seeking to better understand their relationship with food and the role it plays in their overall wellbeing. The ability to positively educate others in the areas of sustainability and wellbeing is of paramount importance now more than ever, as we navigate our way through this era of coping with Covid.

Cathy’s new book is now available to purchase online (www.theculinarycelt.com) and will also be available at this Saturday’s Killavullen Farmer’s Market (which has inspired a lot of Cathy’s writing and content for the book) and in selected bookstores, food stores and cafés throughout Cork over the coming weeks.
