New kiosks installed in Town Park

- KATIE GLAVIN

Confusion and speculation arose in Fermoy recently, as two large wooden box-like items were installed in the Town Park.

While currently the structures remain padlocked, it is hoped that they will soon be open to the public, revelaing their true purpose to all.

“They were originally planned for the quays to afford patrons a safe space to consume a takeaway coffee/tea, however, a suitable location was not identified,” a Cork County Council spokesperson informed The Avondhu.

Funding for the installation of the two ‘kiosks’ was provided by Cork County Council, under Project ACT (Activating County Towns).

“There are a small number of minor snags to be completed prior to them being opened to the public. Once completed, they will remain in an open position to serve both the local community and visitors to Fermoy,” the spokesperson confirmed.
