ST BRIGID’S DAY CROSSES

The pupils of 5th and 6th class celebrated St Brigid's Day by making the traditional crosses and learning about some customs and traditions that go with it.

The class then decided to make crosses for people in the village who mightn’t have anyone to make one for them. They spent a large portion of the day collecting rushes and making crosses before handing a large box into the local shop for distribution.

It was a lovely gesture and a small way for the children to give a little back to their community. We hope this can be something we make an annual event.
