SPINATHON A GREAT SUCCESS

A club meeting took place on Monday night with a large attendance. After a very successful weekend where the club players raised money to defray costs and expenses through the year with their spinathon, there was a great vibe.

The initiative, driven by William Fouhy and the other players, was a tremendous success and every credit to all the players, mentors and supporters who attended throughout the night. This fundraiser was also held in conjunctio­n with The Irish Kidney Associatio­n, which is a very worthy cause.

100 CLUB WINNERS

The 100 Club draw took place and the winners were: €200 Shane Fitzgerald, €80 Tom Monaghan, Cork; €80 Michael McEldowney.

REBELS’ BOUNTY

BINGO

Bingo continues on a Friday night at 8pm. The bingo will revert to the hall shortly once the hall is deemed fit.

CLUB DEVELOPMEN­T MEETING

A meeting took place on Tuesday, 15th February at 7.30pm in the GAA hall in conjunctio­n with Munster Council and local games developmen­t administra­tors, to discuss best practice for club developmen­t programmes.

This was a well-attended meeting and through the auspices of the One Club initiative, it drives the club on to continue to develop and enhance the facilities and the club further, to make it fit for purpose in to the future.

MATCHES

Our junior football and hurling will kick off in the next few weeks and we begin our schedule with a junior football match versus Mitchelsto­wn on March 4th. That will be followed up on March 12th with a junior hurling encounter versus Doneraile and then, an intermedia­te hurling match on the 13th.

We will confirm all matches in the next few weeks.

MEMBERSHIP

LOTTO

The lotto draw took place. The numbers drawn were 1, 6, 11, 32. There was no winner. The lucky dip winners were - Eamonn McCarthy, John O’Connor, Boston; Mike Monaghan (Jnr), Mickie Walsh, Nancy Dunne, Maureen Maume, c/o Peter O’Brien. The jackpot next time will be €5,800.

VOTES OF SYMPATHY

Votes of sympathy were passed to the McEniry, Collins and McEldowney families on their recent bereavemen­ts.
