Grade 5 men’s team win at Whitechurch

-

Last Sunday, our grade 5 men’s team played their second group game away in Whitechurch. It was the only game the club had in the Winter League over the weekend. Weather conditions on the day were challenging, to say the least. The game went ahead however, and our team handled the wind and rain better than the home side. The lads played some excellent tennis and powered their way to a fine 4-0 victory. With one game left to play, the team are in a good position to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition.

This weekend, we have four teams in action, three of them playing at home in Mitchelstown. On Saturday 26th, our ladies grade 6 (rock) team will play their first game of the competition at home against Kilfeacle Kickers at 3pm. On Sunday, Feb 27th, our ladies grade 6 team (paper) will be at home against Nenagh at 10am. The ladies will be hoping to build on the opening drawn game with Sunday’s Well. In the afternoon, the ladies grade 4 team will be in action against Tralee at 2pm in Mitchelstown. The ladies had a very impressive win away at Lower Aghada in their first game, so they will be hoping for a second victory in the group. The only away game this weekend will be the men’s grade 2 team. They will be away to Douglas (white) with a starting time of 12pm, looking for two wins from two in the group. We wish all our teams the best of luck in their matches.
