As An Garda Síochana mark 100 years of service in the community, former gardaí have also been acknowledged by the service.

This week, Kilworth Garda Station was paid a visit by former member, Frank O’Grady.

“As we mark 100 years of service to our community this year, we are delighted to meet former gardaí, staff and their families who have stories to share about their experience in An Garda Síochána,” a spokesperson for An Garda Síochana said.

Frank O’Grady served in Kilworth from 1965 to 1973 and visited the familiar station this week with his wife Nell.

He is now 92 years of age and retired from Midleton Garda Station in 1986.

“Thank you for calling in to say hello to your old post Frank, and keep enjoying your retirement,” the spokesperson added.
