Sad passing of Denis Deasy, Rossmore
One can only imagine the shock that enveloped the community of Rossmore and Kilmeen on Friday last when news filtered through that Denis (Din) Deasy had died following an incident involving his car that occurred in the village of Leap shortly before midday on Friday.
Denis, his wife Mary and daughter Catherine were and are, a huge part of the Rossmore Drama Festival as well as their involvement with the Kilmeen Drama Group. Denis was a most likeable character and his presence behind the bar in St Mary’s Hall, Rossmore will be greatly missed. Mary
held the position of secretary of the Rossmore Drama Festival for as many yaers as this writer can remember - a mantle taken up by her daughter Catherine in the last number of years.
We extend our deepest sympathy to them both and the to extended Deasy family. May Denis rest in the heavenly peace of God’s kingdom.
