Good run at CAT Club

-

With four great nights at the Cork Arts Theatre under their belt, Palace Players now focus on the festival circuit with their play ‘Chapatti’ by Christian O’Reilly starring Sean Ahern and Mary Colbert - the first outing being to Doonbeg, Co Clare on this Saturday followed by a trip Mountmellick in Co Laois the following day.

Two days later on Tuesday of next week, they have the short journey to the West Waterford festival in Ballyduff.

In all, the group will contest eight festivals, the others being Kerry (Castleisland) on Friday 11, Claregalway Saturday 12, Rossmore (West Cork) Tuesday 15, Claremorris, Co Mayo Saturday 26 and Glenamaddy, Co Galway Saturday, April 2.

Along the way they will face opposition from local groups - Ballyduff (‘Rabbit Hole’), Brideview Tallow (‘The Beauty Queen of Leenane’) and Kilmeen (‘Conversations On A Homecoming’). While these three may be part of our opposition, they are also our good friends and we wish them all a safe and enjoyable run.

SHOCK

We were all truly shocked to hear of the sudden passing of Denis Deasy, Rossmore over the weekend. Denis was a true gentleman and a lynchpin of the Rossmore festival. We extend our deepest sympathy to his wife Mary, daughter Catherine and extended family. May he rest in peace.
