The Funcheon Gaels Ladies Junior footballers are fundraising. They will be walking the Canon Sheehan Loop in the Ballyhouras this Sunday, March 6 at 10.30am. Each team member has a sponsor card and your support will be greatly appreciated.

TRAINING

It’s a busy week for the club, with many of the younger teams returning to training. Monday evening is underage football. This week, over 100 girls from U6 to U14 togged out at the St Fanahan’s College Sports Hall and the astro turf pitch at the leisure centre.

On Thursdays, it’s the turn of the camogie teams. Each group will be contacted by their team coaches to confirm time and location.

OPERATION TRANSFORMATION / MYLIFE

Last week was our final walk for this year. Thanks to everyone who joined us for the walks, and to those who registered with us for the MyLife / GAA promotion. As a club, we comfortably achieved the 4000km target, so we’re in with a chance of winning one of the prizes.

Within our group, a special mention must go to Geraldine Williams, Celine Walsh-O’Brien and Pa O’Brien. Over the period of the promotion, each of them covered incredible distances - further than a return trip to Belfast!

To mark their achievement, all three were presented with hampers, kindly sponsored by Horgan’s Delicatessen Supplies.
