U21 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

The U21 Football Championship final between Ballycastle Gaels and St Dominics did not take place last Friday night. It has been provisionally fixed for either Wednesday, March 16 or Thursday, March 17. We should have confirmation of the date, time and venue in time for next week’s notes.

NORTH CORK LEAGUES

Castletownroche Hurlers and Abbey Rovers Footballers have both been drawn in Division Two of the 2022 leagues. It will be a busy schedule, with seven football league games and eight hurling league games, all of which must be completed by the June Bank Holiday weekend.

The season kicks off on Saturday next, March 5, with Araglin travelling to Castletownroche to play Abbey Rovers, with throw-in scheduled for 4pm. The lads will be hoping to make a fast start to the league campaign and it would be great to see a good turn-out to support the lads in this game.

We wish the players the best of luck in the coming season, and we also would like to extend our best wishes our joint trainers, Dave Relihan and Jonathan O’Callaghan, and their selectors Mick Linehan, Chris Relihan, Thomas O’Shea and David Butler. We can be assured the lads will leave no stone unturned in their efforts.

CLUB LOTTO

The latest lotto draw took place last Monday night, February 28 and for the first time in two years, we were able to hold the draw in the one of the local pubs, with the Hillstop Inn being our first port of call. The numbers drawn were 3, 8, 10 and 29. There was no winner of the €3,600 jackpot and the five €20 ‘lucky dip’ winners were Amy Barrett, Brian Mulcahy, Adrian McGrath, Helen O’Donovan and Donie Hurley. Congratulations to all the prize winners

The jackpot now stands at €3,600. The next draw takes place on Monday, March 14 in the Rockforest Bar. Tickets are available through local retail outlets in the village, from your usual sellers or through any club officer. The club would like to express our appreciation to everybody who continues to support our draw.

ADULT CLUB MEMBERSHIP

Adult club membership for 2022 remains at €50 per adult, €20 for students and OAPs.

We would appreciate if you could arrange to pay membership as soon as possible to any member of the club committee.

REBELS’ BOUNTY 2022

The deadline for the Rebels’ Bounty Draw got extended to March 1st, meaning the draws for January and February did not take place last week. They were scheduled to take place on Tuesday night. We will provide an update on the draw results in the notes next week. Once again, the club would like to express our appreciation for all of those who supported our club in this draw this year.
